    I like this filter

I like this filter. It's light enough for backpacking and it should do the job. I know the limitations of these kinds of filters: they stop up easily if you use dirty water as a source so you have to be mindful of you water source. I suggest that you allow the sediments to settle out before you use the filter.

My swimming pool is beyond GREEN, full of frogs, and leaves.! So what better water to try? My daughter and I, were amazed when the water pumped into cup was clear, no odor, and tasted as if it was bottled!!! The carry case is small, and does not take up any room. I, think every back pack should have one!

    It works "okay" at best

Seems to do the job but the output though is the biggest downfall. Compared to a Katadyn this pumps very slow. This may be in part due to the fact that the filter that drops into the water floats so one side sucks in air and the other sucks in water. The filters are very good at what they do and can filter extremely dirty water to potable/drinkable water.

    Seems easy to break

It's a good filter but it seems very flimsy. Especially the pump piston. I was afraid I was going to break a seal or the piston itself with the initial first test pump. Maybe it would be better if made of aluminum.
