This filter is just what i was looking for. Excellent addition to the BOB, simple and ez to use. No need for multiple water filtering tools, pumps, pills etc...all in one filtering in this lightweight straw. Whats not to like. If you're on the fence don't hesitate get one today.

    Works for me

Works well, solid design. Get Home Bag addition. My only complaints are that it has too many parts to lose on the trail, and didn't come with a storage bag. I would have dinged it a star, but it passed a blue dye test. 28mm input threads won't hold a typical water bottle, but I have since learned I am supposed to use a soda bottle because they are rigid and built to contain liquids under pressure. The flimsy type will leak at the threads. I was looking to buy a Trio but that was discontinued. Survivor Filter is basically a Trio (same supplier in China), but it failed my blue dye test. I don't know if that's because Survivor Filter was leaking around the o-rings, or if it has a weaker carbon filter, but the MUV ran clear. The MUV units are self-enclosed, so less to worry about with o-rings. The stage two filter (bacteria) can be replaced.
Some folks complain that you have to suck hard to use the filter as a straw, but that's true of any trail filter. They are designed to work under pressure, so attach it to a soda bottle or hydration bladder and squeeze. I'll still use my MSR for backpacking.

    Excellent product

Very well made. Sleek design. It adapts to any way I want to use it and the modular design is brilliant. I no longer have to throw away a filter because one section is not working. I also don't have to carry a bigger filter than I need as I can now take just the needed section.
